Category: Latest News

Sturgeon Falls Ontario- A possible 1 out of 6 points might not seem like a positive but the Lumberjacks found a lot of improvement’s over the weekend with some close scores, a very banged up Jacks team lost 4-3 in Overtime to Seguin on Friday night, dropped a 8-4 decision to the Bracebridge Blues Saturday, and a tough 6-3 decision Sunday afternoon to a Seguin team. The Jacks have several regular players playing hurt including many of the team’s leading scorers while playing with the Flu. So much so emergency Goalie Prestin Bobbish saw his first ever action on Sunday afternoon turning away 36 of 42 shots fired his way. The Club also noticed much better play out of their depth players like Hakim Ratt, and Trent Gerogkish. Team Captain Aaron Sullivan had this to say about the tough 3 game road trip.

“The new guys are gelling nicely, like I have always said the rookies are finding their game, with a good week of rest we will be dominant again we are not a 3-9-1 hockey club we are a lot better than that. With our new guys learning systems and our veterans getting better in health I feel like we have been hit with some bad luck, but this weekend is huge as every point is important and we want to win the next two games at home for the fans”

The Lumberjack return to Action Friday November 6th at 8:30pm vs the Parry Sound Islanders. They back the Storm on Saturday November 7th at 7:30pm come out and support your Jacks.

ICE CHIPS: Trent Gerorgkish continued his point streak to 5 games getting an assist on Sunday he now has 11 points in 12 games leading all Jacks Rookies.
