Jacks Stop Red Hot Islanders With 9-6 Win

Sturgeon Falls ONT- Friday Night action in Sturgeon Falls had some crazy action in the Jacks 9-6 victory over the visiting Parry Sound Islanders. The Jacks again showed they have the ability to find the back of the net as 5 different goal scores found it. Newly acquired veteran forward Ben Miller paced the attack with 4 points in his season debut. While Aaron Sullivan continued his strong campaign potting another 4 points.

The game opened up seeing the Jacks fall 1-0 to a very fast Islanders team, before Alex Cyrenne netted his 11 point of the season to tie the game 1-1, however it was short lived as the Islanders would quickly regain the lead with a power play goal to make the game 2-1. That is how the game would stay after 20 minutes. The Jacks came out flying in the second scoring 3 straight goals started by Ben miller on a penalty shot and 45 seconds later Ben Miller fired a shot high to give the Lumberjacks the lead, Roman Miratov would get his 1st of the night on the power play to put the Jacks up 4-2. Again the Islanders would not go away as they stormed back to tie the game 4-4 before the period was done. The Third Period would be a wild one, as the Jacks and Islanders would trade goals back and forth until the Jacks would seal it with an empty net goal off the Stick of newly signed Nathan Delerosabil. Roman Miratov would get the hat trick by adding two more in the period, Trent Gerogkish also scored to finish the game 9-6 for the Jacks.

“All the boys played their game tonight, and with the new players that have been brought in the positive attitude in the room really makes a difference, we all played hard for 60 minutes and supported each other, something we were missing at times earlier in the year, obviously we can score goals and the boys know we are never out of a game so it is good we are coming together”

Shots on goal favored the Jacks 51-47, Ben Blana picked up his 3rd win of the season. While Jeromin Peska Suffered the loss for the Islanders. With the win the Jacks improved to 4-9-1, while the Islanders drop to 8-5-1. The three stars of the game were Roman Mirotov, Aaron Sullivan, and Ben Miller.
